DEVORAH'S DOOR TO SAFETY

The Devorah's Door to Safety FUND provides safety for women who are dealing with domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking by paying for replacement doors and locks.  In some cases it may also be possible to use funds from Devorah's Door for bus tickets or moving expenses.  NELCWIT has arrangements with specific vendors for these purposes.

Applicants must:

  • be female

  • be escaping domestic or sexual violence or stalking

  • have reason to believe that replacing doors or locks, or moving to a new location, will help keep her safe

  • not have received a grant through Devorah's Door to Safety in the past.

Any woman who meets these requirements may submit an application through an advocate working at NELCWIT or another recognized community agency in the Franklin County-North Quabbin area.  (Advocates should not submit applications unless they think this is a good match.)  NELCWIT reviews each application with a goal of reaching a decision within 48 hours.

For more information, call NELCWIT, 413-772-0806 or 888-249-0806, or come to our office at 479 Main Street, Greenfield between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
